It was a spontaneous trip when my course-mates decided to come one day earlier than the date that we had agreed earlier. I picked up Shereen who arrived at the midnight and Carol’s arrival was at dawn. Sze Pei actually had a few places in mind and I was free to drive them around, so everything went well. We were also lucky as the weather on that day was quite good. It only rained in the early morning thus the weather wasn’t so hot, plus it was cloudy the whole day. :D
Here, the journey begins.
Dim sum at Golden Phoenix. We had it after 9am as all of us didn’t have a good rest at night. Luckily there were still various food available. Lol.
Next, we paid our visit to Dr Mahathir’s birth place. The entrance is free of charge and it was my first visit as well. hehe.
Rumah Kelahiran Mahathir Mohamad.
We looked like kampung girls didn’t we? hehe..
Waiting for our Romeos.. haha.
Ancient ceramic water tank and bike.
Just fooling around, hehe….
Before lunch, we dropped by my house for a short while just to show them where my house is. hehe.. We had lunch at this restaurant popular with it’s main dish – cai po hu! Taste good!!!
Gunung Keriang is famous of its cheap crystals. We spent for an hour in a crystal shop just for shopping. In the end we all had bought a few. I spent RM58 for a white crystal necklace, 2 bracelets and 1 pair of ear- sticks and I got a free turquoise bracelet. hehe!
Our next stop was at Aquatic Complex. It was quite empty since SUKMA XI 2006 in Kedah.
The pools.
The Science Centre is only located at the opposite of the Aquatic Complex. The entrance was also free of charge as the things for display are not completed yet. There were many thins to see though. It was quite fun.
There’s a natural disaster corner and a small house is provided for people to experience earth quake. Press the button to feel earthquake. The 3 buttons stands for: weak, average and strong.
The Paddy Museum is quite well-known in Kedah. Everyone’s going just to watch the wall paintings.
The painting is really nice, looks real.
When was the last time that you ever saw a rainbow?
It was just nice to have an ice cream on a hot day like this. :)
Snap shots at paddy fields. :)
Finally, we ended the day with spicy hot tom yam!! Guys in Alor Star, do you know that the tom yam at Xantana had already shifted to Futball restaurant? It’s located a few shop lots next to Hai Nan Chicken Rice near PMC.
MUST TRY!!!
Tom yam soup with big fat prawns! Yearn for more…~
What a meal..You can feel satisfaction after having it! :D
The ‘ikan bakar’ is also very nice. The fish was being raped by us until bones left! haha..
I went home after sending the three girls back. It was a tiring day but we had lots of fun. ^^ We rest as much as we could because Langkawi would be our next destination. :D
