It’s Singapore I’m going to talk about. Me and my sis followed a 5days 2 nights trip there. There were only 11 of us in the whole trip and we were travelling by a double deck! LOlx.. I didn’t have much interest about Singapore actually but after this trip, I’m kinda fond of it when I got to know more about Singapore.
Everyone knows that Singapore is a Garden City. Thus, it is not weird that every corner of the city is full of plants. Maybe because of this, Singapore is not as hot as Malaysia. Besides, there are super many rules in Singapore. No littering is allowed otherwise one will be punished to sweep at a crowded street hanging a card written “我是垃圾虫”around the neck. Foreigners are not compromise. So better behave yourself well if you’re in Singapore. Further, there are a lot of non-smoking areas but the citizens still love to smoke and their cigarettes are very expensive, it could cost until $11.70 per box. Many people who stay in Johore will bring the cigarettes over and sell it. You can see it at the night street where many people are selling cigarettes.
This sign appears in the toilet.
Cigarette for sale.
A shirt I bought in Singapore as souvenir. hehe..
Do you know what is Singapore’s national language? English? Nope. Manderin? Definitely not! It’s Bahasa Melayu…. The proof is, the words written under their country’s logo is “majulah Singapura”, you can see it in any piece of sin dollar. Besides Malay, Chinese and Indian, the forth main races is European influences.
Singaporean love to queue too. From what I’ve heard, when they see people queuing, they will go to queue up although they might not know what do they queuing for. For example at a food court, normally they will queue at the stall which has the longest queue without knowing what food is selling. The logic is, the longest queue will be the most delicious one. haha…
It’s undeniable that Singapore is a very clean city. Unlike Malaysia, their streets, buildings and public toilets are so clean! The first thing I complained when I came back to Malaysia was the public toilets! I can’t stand the smell and the look if them, miss the fresh air in SIngapore. =.= My friend once said, Malaysia knows how to build but don’t know how to maintain which I strongly agree with it.
Many people think that working in Singapore is easy earning but they don’t know the bitterness of it. Many of them work in Singapore but stay in Jb as the rental is cheaper. Everyday they have to wake up very very early in order to get to work on time because they’ll have to go through the heavy traffic to get to the checkpoint which I think I will get killed if I have this kind of life! I quite admire the fact that Singaporeans are very hard working and serious about their job. I felt like the persons who’re on duty at the game stations are very friendly and polite as they serve everyone equally well.
You don’t have to worry about public transport in Singapore, trains, taxis and buses can take you to everywhere. The cars above are the taxis in Singapore. They have SONATA, COROLLA and even MERCEDES BENZ (the white one) as taxi, of course the MERS charge a lot high than others.
Come to think of food, I don’t think that Singapore has many nice food. They prefer less salt, less sweet and less ajinomoto. Haha.. The only tasty meal I considered that we had during the 3 days in Singapore was our 3rd day lunch at Ah Yat Seafood Restaurant at The Village. We had crabies too! hehe.. Oue similarity we have with Singapore is that they have their Singlish and we have our Manglish – mix languages. :)
